AGP Substrates was founded by Cori Byrge, an environmental biologist turned entrepreneur dedicated to protecting coastal ecosystems and rethinking how we grow food.
After witnessing firsthand how nutrient pollution harms coastal life, Cori set out to design plant-based technologies that make aquaponics cleaner, more efficient, and accessible at every scale.
Today, AGP Substrates develops innovations like the AGP Iron Gel, which helps farmers grow healthy crops without synthetic additives, and the HappiFilter, a compact aquarium filter that demonstrates aquaponics in action while giving home aquarists a cleaner, low-maintenance tank and the joy of growing fresh plants. Both products reflect Cori’s mission: to reduce waste, support sustainable food production, and inspire a shift toward healthier ecosystems and communities.
